Shop ‘n’ Snack for a Cause at 10,000 Villages

You’re not doing anything else tonight, right? Let’s go shopping and contribute towards fair trade items, while supporting a cause for mines removal. We’re calling all community advocates and craft lovers! Join LLOTP bLaoggers and other supporters at Mines Advisory Group‘s fundraiser tonight at 10,000 Villages in St. Paul. MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international neutral and impartial humanitarian organisation. Their vision is a safe and secure future for communities affected by armed violence and conflict. They work with conflict-affected communities to identify their needs, removing landmines and unexploded ordnance, and helping those people in contaminated areas to live more safely. Since 2004, MAG Laos has cleared more than 38.7 million square metres of suspect land in Laos, destroying 161,802 items of UXO. As a result, 450,894 Lao people gained more safe land for farming, clean drinking water, latrines, irrigation for rice cropping, safe school compounds and tertiary roads.
